This script is a guide only. Feel free to interview how you like. No interview ever goes to script, so you will have to jump around a bit.
1. Say Hello
“Hi, welcome to the Last Stand Enterprises recruitment room, how can I help?”
2. Do a background Check
Don’t worry about taking a moment to do this. If a recruit is impatient then they are probably not a good fit for the corp anyway.
- Check the characters age. We have a minimum age requirement of 4 weeks. If they are a new char, ask if they are a new alt and who is their main
- Check for corp hoppers. Someone that has been in lots of different corps for only a few days or weeks then we should question this. Either they dont play well with other people, or maybe they just have not found the right people yet. Also remember some ppl jump between a couple of corps to do pvp etc.
- Check the killboard. Some pvp is expected. If the candidate has pages of null kills, especially pod kills, then we should question why they want to join a highsec corp. Look for questionable kills or losses.
3. Ask what they like to do in Eve.
Gets the conversation going and you can see what they want to do. If they say lots of PVP and blowing stuff up, or the like living in wormholes, then may be were not the right corp. Often candidates will start asking questions now.
4. Ask what they are looking for in a corp
This gives you an idea of what their expectations are and you can get a feel if they would fit in. Look out for people expecting the corp to do things for them, or expecting to do stuff for the corp.
4. Give information about the corp and what we offer
Here is some cut and paste blurb… Generally candidates will ask for info on the corp before you get to step 4.
There are a couple versions…..
Were are a very relaxed corp, of the opinion its your game to play how you want. So long as there’s no drama its pretty easy going. We don’t have any mandatory ops or anything like that. But also we don’t do pvp, roams or other types of corp ops, apart from 24/7 HS moon mining. We are based around Joppaya which is close to Amarr and we also have a well stocked BPO library you can use.
We are a social corp of casual players. Members of the corp play the game for fun and relaxation and as such are members are free to play the game however they want, the only requirement is not to cause any drama and say Hi. We have no mandatory ops or call to arms, but at the same time we don’t offer any corp activities such as pvp or roams. The only thing we constantly offer is 24/7 HS moon mining. We also have a rait with a well stocked BPO library you can use.
5. Ask if they have any closing questions
This is important, its an opening for the candidate to ask anything he may be thinking but did not want to just say.
6. Accept or Reject.
If you like the candidate, send an invite.
If you have any concerns at all, feel free to reject the candidate. Be nice and polite and say why. If you are not comfortable rejecting someone, your get out is to say “Corp policy requires a director to also chat to you. He will be in touch shortly” Remember you can always blame the Corp CEO for some random unknown recruitment policy he failed 🙂 Leadership will always support you in rejecting a candidate for whatever reason.
Other Questions you may be asked
Do you use ESI Knife / Require an API Check?
No we dont. This is a tool used by some larger alliances to get access to a players details. The API check can look at your mails, your accounts, your transactions, contracts, your inventory.. The works. Its the ultimate tool for finding out if your a spy, but we simply dont care.
